At the end of 2016, Thermamax started the expansion and installation of an additional production hall at Ölhafenstrasse 56 in Mannheim, a few hundred meters from the company headquarters. The new 1,500-square-meter production facility was commissioned in mid-March and is mainly used to insulate turbochargers for the automotive industry.
“For us, this was a very crucial investment,” comments Ralf Großhauser, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Thermamax. “By concentrating the entire turbocharger assembly line, including warehousing, logistics and quality control, in a separate hall, we can organize the material flows and our processes in the automotive sector even more efficiently. This means we are ideally equipped to efficiently handle high-volume orders and the high production volumes demanded by this market.” In 2017, Thermamax will increase production of turbocharger insulation fivefold compared to 2015; this positive development will continue steadily in the coming years.
Several thousand turbochargers are insulated, tested and shipped in the new hall in three-shift operation. Specially designed and automated production lines ensure that the high quality standards and tight delivery schedules demanded by the automotive industry can be met and maintained.
By investing in the new production hall in Mannheim, Thermamax has not only expanded its production capacities and thus further strengthened its position as a reliable partner for the automotive industry, but is also making an important contribution to securing its location and confirming itself as an attractive employer in the region.
