Job description
tmax Group is looking for an experienced and hands-on Operational Group Controller to strengthen our international Shared Service Center in Sibiu.
In this role, you will play a key part in improving operational transparency, manufacturing profitability, SAP controlling processes, and operational reporting across multiple international production entities. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Finance teams in a complex Make-to-Order manufacturing environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Improving material cost transparency and profitability analysis across projects, products, and customers
- Analyzing production variances, inventory movements, labor allocation, and margin deviations
- Supporting operational KPI development and management reporting
- Participating in SAP CO activities, month-end closing, costing, and issue resolution
- Improving SAP master data quality, BOMs, routings, and costing structures
- Supporting ERP stabilization and process harmonization initiatives
- Monitoring inventory valuation and project profitability
- Supporting intercompany pricing and operational controlling standards across the group
- Acting as a business partner for operational and plant management teams internationally
Requirements
- 5+ years of operational controlling experience in manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Controlling, Business Administration or Industrial Engineering
- Strong experience in Make-to-Order (MTO), project manufacturing or complex production environments
- Advanced SAP experience is mandatory, ideally including FI/CO, CO/PC, MM/PP, CO/PA, master data structures, and operational costing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on mentality with strong operational understanding
- Experience working in international and cross-functional environments
- Ability to identify process weaknesses and drive sustainable improvements
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with operational stakeholders
- Fluent English required
